Hypnosis is a very natural state of heightened awareness. Everybody is in hypnosis at least twice a day, in that very pleasant state between waking and sleeping. Indeed there will be many other times when you will have experienced a light hypnotic state although you may not have thought of it in these terms before; for example, perhaps you can remember becoming so absorbed in a book that you didn't hear people speaking to you.
When we are in this state our unconscious mind becomes much more available, and new ideas and suggestions that would probably be rejected in the waking state can become part of our inner reality. This can help us to make changes in the way we behave, think and feel All hypnosis is self directed, even when working with a Hypnotherapist the client will retain full control over the process.
Hypnotherapy is the use of Hypnosis to help people overcome problems or achieve goals.
It is possible to help a wide range of problems, from weight control, stopping smoking and dealing with stress and anxiety through to overcoming phobias, overcoming obsessive thoughts and enhancing sports or academic performance. It should be noted that hypnotherapy is completely unlike stage hypnotism. The client is always aware and in control. The therapist works for the client and will help them to achieve the goals that they set.
Anyone of average intelligence can be helped into hypnosis. Some people may need more help, others the less. However, it is important to understand that nobody can be hypnotised against their will.
NLP stands for the neuro linguistic programming. This is a system invented by Richard Bandler and John Grinder. Is a system that helps people to make personal change very effectively and quickly. It is based on understanding how the language we use, the images we create and the beliefs and values that we hold interact with our brain and nervous system create a kind of program that affects all aspects of our life.
Coaching is a process that helps individuals to achieve the maximum fulfilment, performance, achievement and enjoyment possible in their life! The coach champions the client's vision helping them to identify the goals and actions that they need to turn the dreams into reality. The coach does this by listening well and offering both challenge and support. Coaching can be conducted face-to-face, by telephone, or by e-mail or often by a blend of all three.
